One thing you can always count on in the NBA is a new video game. There are reports that NBA 2K24 will come out in September 2023. The rating of each team is one of the most important choices that the 2K team will have to make. They will have to take into account the ratings of star players, how the team did last season. And how they are expected to do next season. These teams should have a better rating in NBA 2K24 because they showed some progress in 2022–2023.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder are building what could be one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA. They have a lot of raw ability that could become a real threat as their stars reach their full potential. OKC has the youngest team in the NBA, with a mean age of 23.14 years. Its stars include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, and Chet Holmgren, who will be the second overall pick in 2022.
OKC finished the season in 10th place and just missed making the playoffs. This was a great comeback story that was only topped by the Sacramento Kings. With a lot of young, skilled athletes on their team, including a first-time All-Star (Gilgeous-Alexander) and an Australian (Giddey). The Thunder’s bright spots should get more credit for the energy they bring to games and a better grade.
San Antonio Spurs
The hopes and goals of the whole city of San Antonio for the rest of the season rest on the shoulders of a young rookie. The Spurs chose French talent Victor Wembanyama with the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He will play with Keldon Johnson and the rest of the team and learn from legendary coach Gregg Popovich.
After a disappointing season in which they finished with a 22–60 record, which was the second worst in the Association. The Spurs will try to start over and build something special around the highly regarded foreign talent. There is no doubt that San Antonio will do better than last year. Especially now that the boss of the US National Team is in charge.
From a gaming point of view, the team’s general rating will definitely go up. If they get a young star with a lot of buzz around him. At the time NBA 2K23 came out, their team had the lowest overall rating in the game, at 80. If Wembanyama joins the team, this could change, based on how well 2K thinks he can do in Basket Random.
New York Knicks
The New York Knicks took a step in the right direction after missing the playoffs in the 21/22 season. They improved on the great play that got them to the playoffs in 20/21. The addition of former Dallas Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson was the “X factor” that helped the Knickerbockers reach new heights and advance to the second round of the playoffs.
New York got a scorer and floor leader in Brunson who can take over for their All-Star forward Julius Randle. By letting Brunson handle the ball, Randle and the rest of the Knicks were able to play the way they were best at. Which helped them finish in fifth place in the East.
The Knicks are starting to look like a team that could bring in some big names and make a run at a title they haven’t had in a long time. This makes the future in New York City look better than ever. Even so, the Knicks expect a better grade than the 86 they were given when NBA 2K23 came out. Thanks to the addition of Brunson as the starting guard and the great play of fellow recruits Isaiah Hartenstein and Josh Hart.
Sacramento Kings
The fans of the Sacramento Kings really believed that for the first time in a long time. They had a team that deserved respect on the court. This gave the city an energy that hadn’t been seen in a while. After trading away good shooter Tyrese Haliburton for big man Domantis Sabonis, the “Light the Beam” attitude in Sacramento pushed them to the top of their division at the end of the season.
Since the trade season is still going strong, the Kings could make more moves to try to improve on their great season. But even with the team they have now, they have a good case for a higher grade in NBA 2K24. With multiple players having breakout seasons, each player’s rating should go up for Sacramento. And the “Beam Team” as a whole should get a grade that fits a team on the verge of becoming a serious contender.
Denver Nuggets
Even though NBA 2K23 has them ranked as high as 92, there is no question that the Denver Nuggets have earned a grade that puts them ahead of the rest of the pack. Nikola Jokic and his team have finally arrived. They had a great season, finishing on top of the Western Conference. And then went on to win their first-ever NBA Championship. The team has reached the promise they always thought they were capable of.
The two-time Most Valuable Player and one-time Most Valuable Player of the Finals, Nikola Jokic, was able to take advantage of his teammate Jamal Murray playing the best basketball fans have seen from him in a long time. Fans can expect this team to be the best in NBA 2K24. Because the Denver Nuggets finally reached the top of the mountain in the playoffs. They beat the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in four straight games.
NBA 2K24 is being made right now, and it’s expected to come out in September 2023.
